Current market conditions are creating barriers for hospitals to meet the demand for outpatient diagnostic imaging services, particularly MRI and CT. Most markets are experiencing double-digit annual volume growth and this trend is expected to continue over the next several years. Many hospitals are capacity constrained in these modalities, increasing the threat of competitors entering their markets and capturing patient volumes on these high-end services.
