With new equipment introduced in this market by Shields, doctors can now scan with enough speed and accuracy to freeze images of a beating heart. This reduces the risks of unnecessary diagnostic cardiac catheterization procedures and the complications and risks associated with other invasive diagnostics.

Shields partnerships with community hospitals in Winchester, Weymouth and Quincy also have yielded extraordinary advances for patients undergoing radiation therapy.  Our centers offer the most advanced equipment designed to more accurately target cancer cells.  External Radiation, 3-D Conformal Therapy, IMRT, IGRT, and FIF Planning Technique are among the newest treatment protocols that utilize state-of-the-art targeting to treat only cancer cells and not the health surrounding tissue.
