CT scanning is a safe non-invasive radiological procedure. Some CT exams require the injection of a contrast agent to better visualize parts of your body. While Shields administrates what we feel is the safest contrast available, there is always the chance, as with all medication, of a severe allergic reaction (about 1 in 75,000). Our staff members will take every measure possible to ensure that it is safe for you to receive this contrast. Please inform us if you have ever experience an allergic reaction to any kind of medication or contrast injection.
