Patient Confidentiality

Shields Health Care is dedicated to public service through patient care and confidentiality. As such, every employee at Shields receives confidentiality training emphasizing the importance of keeping patient information private. Only if a Medical Release Form is signed by the patient will medical information be disclosed to a third party that is not part of patient’s treatment, Shields operations, or a billing agency. These 3 uses of patient information are approved uses of patient health information per HIPAA (Health Insurance Accountability Act) guidelines.
