What is CT?
CT stands for Computed Tomography and is sometimes called a CAT scan. CT scanning combines x-ray technology with powerful computers to generate detailed cross-sectional images of the organs in the body. The CT images allow your Physician to diagnose medical conditions efficiently and accurately, resulting in the best course of treatment for you.
Physicians order CT scans because they are an accurate way to acquire a detailed view of many types of tissue in one quick scan.
Patients choose CT scans because they are easy and extremely fast. Most exams can be completed, from start to finish, in less than 20 minutes.
