1. What is the cost for the 12-week program?
The fee for this internship is $2,500, which includes the on-line lecture series, one-on-one clinical training and all educational materials. Payment can be made via money order, personal check, or credit card. Full payment, which is non-refundable, is expected two weeks prior to the beginning of the program. Tuition costs will be reimbursed if you are hired by Shields as a permanent staff technologist at the end of the program.

2. Where is the clinical training held?
You will receive your individual clinical training at one of our 23 MRI facilities located throughout Massachusetts and Rhode Island, utilizing the most advanced MRI techniques and coils.

3. What are the hours of the clinical training?
You will be required to complete 12 hours of clinical training per week during the twelve-week program. Training hours are flexible! We will work closely with you to ensure the times are suited to your needs.

4. Do you offer job placement?
At the end of the course, students may apply for any open position within the Shields network.

5. Will this program prepare me for the MR registry?
Our program will provide you with 144 hours of clinical training. This will not be sufficient to complete clinical comps for the boards. While the program is not designed as registry prep, the didactic portion is directed to those students who wish to become registered.

6. Will I receive CEU's for this program?
Yes! You will receive 24 hours of CEU credit.

7. Who will be my clinical teachers?
One of our experienced MRI technologists, committed to clinical excellence and superior patient care, will provide you with on-site, individual training.

8. What type of certificate do I receive after completion of the course?
At the end of your twelve-week session, you will receive a certificate to indicate the completion of the Accelerated Internship Program.

9. Is this an ongoing program?
Yes. We run this program in the fall every year. The session usually begins the last week in August. Applications are accepted through out the year.
